Here we are going to list various “healthier snack” which we recommend. The might occasionally be higher in fats e.g. seeds and nuts but they are the healthier fats.
- Nuts and Seeds e.g.
- Walnuts, Hazel nuts, Cashew nuts, Pistachio …
- Sunflower, Pumpkin, Sesame ….
- Fruit with some form of protein e.g. nuts or natural yoghurt
- A glass of 50/50 fruit juice e.g. 50% water and 50% fruit juice of your choice.
- Oatcakes
- Go for the plain once if possible, the other once are tasty as well
but are more likely to include sugars etc. - Easy to store, as they last for ages. Buy a few boxes and
have them in your office drawer.

- Nut spread on Oatcakes one of my favourite
You should be able to get them in most Health Food Stores. Tesco and Dunnes have them in the meantime as well (often to a better price than the the Health Food Stores). - Raw veg to nibble on
e.g. cucumber, carrots, broccoli … - Humus (ideally home made) with lots of garlic
- Humus goes with well the oat cakes
……
I will add to this list over time …..
